Design
Every design at Huvro is made from a pure concept realized into the material world. We start with simple geometric ideas that then begin to take on many variations and many revisions. Our goal is to come up with a final design that has been well thought out, well executed and simple in design. Our workshop is filled with many prototypes, sketches and renders that may never come to light, but our philosophy is that many failed designs are necessary for good design. Each of our final variations is the combination of trial & error, leading to our best attempts at simple, clean design.
Materials
Huvro products are built using the best materials and tools available, with a strong emphasis on using all natural water based assembly and finish product. By using all-natural product, you can be certain that these items will last a lifetime without harming your skin. Our leather is premium vegetable tanned full-grain hide sourced from within the United States from various tanneries, including those that have been in operation for nearly two centuries. Other materials include solid brass & stainless steel hardware seen in items such as money bar clips, button snaps, key-rings, zipper pulls and more.
Process
Our process involves traditional practices as well as modern technology to envision our designs. Utilizing high precision laser cutters we are able to form the exact shapes we need for our designs. Everything is then assembled and finished by hand, using tradition techniques such as saddle stitching. Every product we have for sale was the result of countless hours designing and revising.
Quality
Leather is a product derived from nature and therefore has a unique grain from hide to hide. Much like wood grain, leather has many variations of texture. These textures vary from one part of the hide to the next and oftentimes includes scratches, bites, wrinkles and dents. This is the beauty of natural hide and should indicate quality vegetable-tanned full-grain leather.
Because of variations in grain, each of our products will never look entirely identical. This is not considered a defect or fault, instead a unique quality that makes every individual item one of a kind.
Patina
The story of time always unfolds with things aging and with age comes all the cuts, bruises and trials of life. The materials we use will last a lifetime, but as that life moves forward, our products develop a certain ‘patina’ or fine aging, that will eventually shine on your product like a badge of honor. Leather that develops a patina tend to darken in color and build a shine. Brass hardware begins to darken in color while stainless steel will develop a lackluster matte finish. This is the nature of quality materials and should not be seen as defective. It is your product showing you it can outlast inferior products and keep up with wear & tear.
